Somewhere I can let out my inner crafter without being labeled as even more insane.

Many many many years ago, I was given this gorgeous green skirt. It’s paneled, and some of the panels have decoration, in the same green. Over the years, it’s faded somewhat, and the decoration is starting to pull apart. Yeah, I’ve worn this skirt a lot in the (at least) 5 years I’ve had it.

The other day, mummy suggested we dye it a nice deep purple, however, I had a flash of inspiration, and so started working on embroidering over the old designs. Here’s what I’ve done so far:

The colours I’m using are (DMC)

red: 817

orange: 740

yellow: 444

green:699

blue:820

purple:550

I have to say, the purple is my favorite, and the others I just went through what flosses I already have and tried to find the brightest! It seems to have worked though, I’m loving it.  Unfortunately, I did this much, and then realized that Christmas was nearly upon us. Well, it’s not, but I have bad experiences with missing the deadline of Christmas, so this year I was to get ahead of the game. 🙂 So I’m currently working on graduation gifts (which, believe it or not, are not late! I graduate in the middle of September)

Hopefully I’ll get around to continuing this sooner rather than later. Although I did wear this skirt like this yesterday. It was great fun wearing it, and I’m sure this is gonna look brilliant when it’s done. And I have a plan for a blank panel too, which I really want to start. But I want to finish everything else I’ve started even more, so *shrugs* I need to figure out how to not need to sleep…
