Too-small mittens

So, for the most part this week I have been concentrating solely on a pair of Cthulhu mittens, as part of my dad’s birthday. Yesterday, I finished the first one… and it’s too small 😦  However, I still think that the design I modified looks totally awesome πŸ™‚

So, all I need to do now is redo it, this time in a larger needle. I have a couple of other modifications I want to make (about the design on the palm) so this attempt wasn’t a complete waste of time. I think that I want to do a pair for me as well, so that’s something to think about after my dad’s pair are finished.

After realising that that one was too small, I didn’t really want to think about it, but I still wanted to do something, so I pulled out my colourful socks again. I’ve now nearly finished the increases for the foot πŸ™‚

  1. Those cthulhu mittens are awesome! Its kind of good that they are a little small because you get to have them! (presuming of course your hands are smaller than your Dads-sorry if Ive just put my foot in it), those are the cheeriest socks Ive ever seen!! you will have very smiley feet πŸ™‚

    • Although my hands are smaller than my dads, the mitten doesn’t fit my hand! That was the first hint that they would be too small for my dad πŸ˜› I will try blocking them bigger, but they’re made from a cotton/wool blend, so I’m not sure how well it’ll go!

      • oh no, hope you find a good home for them soon. I bet a cthulhu fan would pay a fair amount for those so if all else fails you could always sell them πŸ™‚
