More lovely stash :)
So, I haven’t really been doing anything crafty this week. Trapping your middle finger of your dominant hand in a car door will do that to you, I’m afraid 😦 I can’t pick up a needle, hold a knitting needle, I even find it difficult to hold a pen to make notes on the maths I’m doing. So that’s that. Not that I haven’t been busy- my parents came up to see me this week, and on Wednesday we wen’t to see my aunt who lives fairly close. And she was destashing! So, I not have lots more cross stitching goodies to play with 🙂 Or at least, I’ll be able to play with them when my finger gets better. Let’s hope it does so quickly! I need to write her a thank you card. With embroidery on it!
So, let’s have a look at what she gave me:
Firstly, some (many!) cross stitch books and charts. These will be going back to Salisbury, as I have quite enough to be getting along with, and not that much storage space up here. And my mum looked interested at the book about smocking!
Also going back to Salisbury are 9(!) form-a-lines kits for Christmas cards. I’m a bit annoyed about this, since I love these things, but I have no way to punch the holes needed, so I’m being sensible here. Unfortunately.
Everything else will be staying here to
distract reward myself for doing my maths.
Firstly: a box full of card blanks and envelopes
a flat box of fabric. I haven’t gone through this properly yet, but it looks to be a mix of even-weave (or linen, or whatever. It’s not aida!) and aida, which is definitely what I prefer. But hey ho, I’ll give it a try at some point.
There’s also a cigar box (I love these things! My dad has one too, and it’s also full of crafty things!) of finishing bits, mostly hoops. Of course, there’s also some maderia thread in there, and other finishing bits.
There are (and this, I totally think is the best bit in this stash!) three(!) boxes of thread. One is anchor, one is listed as maderia, but I think is a mix, and the final one is just a few little bits of various colours, and some krenik blending filament 🙂 The DMC to Anchor conversion table supplied as well will be very helpful 🙂
Then there’s even more thread- some generic brand, but it’s very colourful, so I’m sure that it will get used sooner rather than later!
And lat (but certainly not least!), there was some beads
It’s difficult to tell from this picture, but each of those test tubes contains a different colour of beads. Some of them only contain a very small number of beads, whereas other contain more.
So, in all, I think I’m a very lucky woman! But my favorite part of this is definitely the threads 🙂 What would be in your favorite stash enhancement like this?
